Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (1476 Pte. R. Morris, 41st Foot) minor edge bruising, good very fine £70-90

Robert Morris was born in Hereford and enlisted at Aldershot in 1856 with the 80th Regiment. During the Indian Mutiny he served with them in the Futtehpore District of India where the regiment was engaged in actions against the rebels. He was transferred to the 1st Battalion 23rd Regiment in 1865 and again to the 41st Regiment in 1869. He was awarded the L.S.& G.C. Medal with gratuity on 1 February 1876 and was discharged in June the same year having completed his second period of service. In addition to his Indian Mutiny and L.S. Medal , Morris was in possession of four Good Conduct Badges. Sold with copied discharge papers.
