William Rose Wood Anderson was born in Shanghai in 1886. Educated at Bedford Grammar School he entered the Royal Artillery in 1912. Promoted Captain in June 1916 and Acting Major in September 1917, he was wounded in the thigh on 15 June 1918 whilst serving in Italy. Sold with 14 sheets of copied service papers.
