Rupert Arthus Driver was born in 1889 at Southampton. Serving in France during the Great War, he was wounded on 1 November 1915 whilst with the 10th (attached 7th) Battalion Suffolk Regiment. He received a Temporary Commision with the Indian Army in May 1917 and joining the 2/19 Punjabis served in Palestine, March 1918-March 1919. He attained the rank of Captain in September 1919. Sold with 17 sheets of copied service papers.
