One of only three coinage head M.S.M.s to the Middlesex Regiment.

Leonard Taylor was born in Lambeth and enlisted into the Middlesex Regiment in 1882, aged 19 years. He served with the regiment in the East Indies between March 1884 and January 1895 and with the C.I.V. in South Africa between 20 January and 29 October 1900. Taylor was wounded on 6 March 1900 and mentioned in Lord Robert’s despatches of 4 September 1901. In 1902 he promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer. Sold with a quantity of copied service papers.
