Leonard Goody was born in East Donyland, Essex and enlisted at Southend-on-Sea. Serving with the 1/6th Battalion Essex Regiment he served in Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine. He died of wounds in Palestine on 2 November 1917 and was buried in the Gaza War Cemetery. Sold with a copied photograph of the recipient.
