Æthelstan (924-939), Penny, Crowned Bust type, Fredard, fredard moneta, moneyer’s name part retrograde and part inverted, 1.51g/9h (cf. CEB 318; N 673; S 1094). Bent between 12 and 2 o’clock, small chip at 8 o’clock and hairline crack by rim between 6 and 8 o’clock, otherwise extremely fine, very rare of this moneyer (£1,200-1,500)
