18th Century Tokens, ESSEX, Chelmsford, Kempson’s mule Halfpence (2), edge current cockey lane, 10.17g/6h (DH –), edge plain, 10.50g/6h (DH 8b) [2]. First very fine, second nearly so, both very rare, especially the first £50-£70

The edge inscription on the first token is a ‘mule’ of that found on DH 8 and 8a, demonstrating that a segmented collar must have been used to create it
