Seven: Sergeant G. Perkins, 2nd Royal Canadian Regiment, late Royal Canadian Artillery

Gordon Perkins served as a Private with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, Jan.- June 1940. Following his discharge he re-enlisted in August 1940, serving with the 4th Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. During the war his postings were to the U.K. and the Central Mediterranean (Italy), during which time he qualified as a driver and artillery signaller. He was discharged in October 1945. Perkins re-enlisted again in August 1950, this time with the 2nd Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment. In April 1951 he was posted to Korea and served there with the rank of Sergeant. He returned from Korea in May 1952 and attended the Canadian Parachute course at River Man in August 1952 and was awarded the Canadian Parachute Badge. The following year he served in Canada as a Communications Instructor before being posted to the U.K. with the 1st Royal Canadian Regiment. During the years 1953-54 his rank fell from Sergeant to Private. In November 1955 he was posted to Cental Europe where he qualified as an Infantry Anti-Tank Gunner. He returned to Canada in November 1957 and was discharged for the last time in January 1959. Sold with a quantity of copied service papers.
