Hammer Price:

Lord Dufferin’s Viceroy Presentation Medal, silver pattern, unsigned, 51mm, the reverse border circlet inscribed ‘Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports 1894’, contained in its Wyon presentation case, test scratches in reverse field, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare £150-200

Puddester 884.1.2 but without additional inscription. Recorded in bronze only and described as an unfinished pattern. As the Marquess of Dufferin resigned as Viceroy of India in November 1888, this medal would appear to have been prepared by him for use in his later capacity as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.
