Gunner Hazara Singh took part in the Matipwiri, Zarafi, Mponda, Makanjira, Mlozi, and Mpensi expeditions between September 1895 and February 1898. He was one of five men from the 4th (Hazara) Mountain Battery to qualify for the medal and clasp.
