Carl Dwankowski was born on 1 November 1911 and entered active service on 16 June 1943. He ‘served 32 months overseas with the 101st General Hospital and the 279th Station Hospital as chief neuropsychiatrist and was responsible for the diagnosis, care, and treatment of all nervous and mental diseases in a 1,800 bed general hospital. In addition, he was out-patient consultant for all medical units in the territory serviced by the 101st General Hospital.’ He was demobilised with the rank of Major on 28 July 1946.
