George Page was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and attested for the Middlesex Regiment at Tottenham, Middlesex. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 27 August 1914, before transferring to the 2nd Battalion, Special Brigade (Gas Section) of the Royal Engineers and being advanced Sergeant. Awarded the Military Medal, he was killed in action during the Battle of the Somme on 3 September 1916. he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
