George Henry Faulkner was born in Newnham, Northamptonshire, on 16 March 1884, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Second Class on 13 January 1900. Advanced Leading Seaman in May 1909, he served in H.M.S. Prince of Wales from 19 August 1910 to 12 May 1912, and was promoted Petty Officer on 1 January 1917. He was shore pension on 15 March 1924.
