Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Defence of Kimberley (996 Pte. D. Pike. Kimb: Town Gd:) officially re-impressed naming; Mayor of Kimberley’s Star 1899-1900, reverse hallmark with date letter ‘d’, unnamed as issued, lacking integral top riband bar, very fine (2) £300-£400

Note: Owing to the fact that the Mayor of Kimberley’s Star is a somewhat later striking, with the hallmarks for Birmingham 1903, it is likely that Pike’s medals were a late claim, and his Queen’s South Africa Medal was officially renamed by the Royal Mint from their supply of returned medals.
