India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, Abor 1911-12 (Asst. Comsry. Lieut. J. Foy S. & T. Corps) officially re-engraved naming, good very fine £200-£240

John Foy was born in March 1860, and was appointed Sub-Conductor, Commissary and Transport Corps, Bengal Army, on 25 June 1900. He was promoted Conductor on 20 March 1903, and served at Chakrata from 1905 to 1907, and at Rawalpindi from 1908-09. He was advanced Assistant Commissary and Honorary Lieutenant on 10 December 1908, and served during the Abor Campaign of 1911-12, where he was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 16 July 1912). He retired with the rank of honorary Captain on 26 February 1913.
