Three: Chief Petty Officer R. King, Royal Navy

Robert King was born in Limehouse, London, on 18 July 1877, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 26 February 1895. He was advanced Able Seaman on 1 August 1896; Leading Seaman on 25 January 1901; Petty Officer Second Class on 23 September of that year; and Petty Officer First Class on 1 April 1904. He served during the Great War as a Torpedo Gunner’s Mate in H.M.S. Campania from 30 March 1915, and was promoted Chief Petty Officer on 1 February 1917. He was shore pensioned on 13 February 1919.

King married Mrs. Louise Victoria Kime, a widow, on 6 October 1909, and died on 26 March 1954, aged 77.

this empty; and various letters, postcards, photographs, and other ephemera.
