Provenance: Oliver Stirling Lee Collection, Dix Noonan Webb, December 2004.

Coxe received his Royal Naval Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal at the training establishment
Duke in January 1945. Presumably demobilised shortly after VE-Day, it is just conceivable that he could have immediately enrolled in the “Wavy Navy” and then gone on to qualify for the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1957, after 12 years service, just before the Reserves were amalgamated; it is also possible, of course, that the latter Medal was actually awarded to another member of the Coxe family.
