Frank Dawson Burgess, a native of Greenwich, London, attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 29 November 1915. He was killed on 1 August 1916; he has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.

Sold with an original photograph of the recipient, and K.R.R.C. memorial statue card ‘presented by the Regiment in the sacred and glorious memory of No. 5/3668 Rfn: Frank Burgess.’
