D.F.M. London Gazette 19 May 1944:

‘Sergeant Glendinning has completed 22 very successful sorties with this squadron as a member of an exceptionally good crew whose team work and operational efficiency is outstanding. This has been in no small measure due to his personal endeavour and courage. At all times keen and efficient, Sergeant Glendinning has carried out his duties with a fine offensive spirit and his coolness in action inspires confidence and contributes to the high standard of morale of his crew. The cheerful courage and consistent good work of Sergeant Glendinning as Air Gunner is a splendid example to others and his fine record of achievement merits this recommendation for an award of the Distinguished Flying Medal.

Remarks by Station Commander:
Sergeant Glendinning has by his courage and skill proved himself a tower of strength to his Captain and crew. His gallant determination to lose no opportunity of engaging the enemy is worthy of the highest praise. He is nearing completion of his first operational tour and I have no hesitation in recommending that his services be rewarded by the award of the Distinguished Flying Medal.’
