Abyssinia 1867 (5910. Sapper C. Marshall. Royal Engrs.) suspension re-affixed, edge bruising, very fine £180-£220

Charles Marshall was born Linlithgow, Scotland, in 1835 and attested for the Royal Sappers and Miners at Glasgow on 15 December 1855. He served in Bermuda for five years; in Abyssinia for seven months; and in India for three years; was promoted Corporal on 1 February 1874, and Sergeant on 20 May 1875; and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 3 February 1876. He was discharged on 25 September 1877, after 21 years and 285 days’ service.
