1914-15 Star (1503. Pte. J. T. Miller. 8-Lond. R.); British War and Victory Medals (1503 Pte. J. T. Miller. 8-Lond. R.); together with the recipient’s Silver War Badge, the reverse officially numbered ‘423525’, and a County of Middlesex Silver Jubilee Medal 1935, white metal, very fine

John Thomas Miller attested for the London Regiment, and served with the 8th Battalion (Post Office Rifles) during the Great War on the Western Front from 18 March 1915. He was discharged on account of wounds on 6 June 1916, and was awarded a Silver War Badge. In civilian life Miller was employed by the General Post Office, and retired in 1950, after 41 years’ service.

Sold with the recipient’s Great War Honourable Discharge Certificate, named to ‘No. 1503 Rfm. John Thomas Miller, of 8th London Regiment’, and dated 6.6.16; the recipient’s Second War National Savings Movement Certificate; the recipient’s General Post Office retirement certificate, for 41 years’ service, dated 1950; various silk cigarette cards depicting British regiments; and various photographic images featuring the recipient.
