France, Fête des Vignerons, Vevey, 1889, a silver medal, unsigned, seated female in local costume, rev. townscape and lake, 28mm (cf. BDW 4, 214); La Vignerone, c.1935, a bronze award medal by G. Contaux for the Syndicat National du Commerce Engros des Vins, Cidres, Spiriteux et Liqueurs de France, female bust right in shawl, holding a bunch of grapes, rev. legends on tablets, grapes and presses behind, named (Roland Marque, Maison E. De Joux, 1955), 50mm (cf. DNW 35, 516); Horticulture, 1936, a bronze medal by G. Simon for the Groupement National Interprofessionnel des Fruits à Cidre et Dérivés, kneeling semi-naked female and naked infant with flowers, type without legend, rev. tree with fruits and flowers, 59mm (cf. CGMP p.363); Fête des Vignerons, Vevey, 1977, a silver medal by J. Monod, legend above grapes, rev. comic mask, 38mm [4]. Very fine and better, first with loop for suspension; an interesting group of medals related to viniculture (£60-80)
