(1435 Serjt., 61st Foot) the last fitted with unofficial Indian Mutiny style clasp inscribed ‘Long Service’, the Punjab and Mutiny medals with much contact wear, good fine, otherwise nearly very fine and a rare group to the regiment (4) £700-800
Sold with copy service papers and confirmation of all medals and clasps. Only 74 men of the 61st were entitled to the North West Frontier clasp for the expedition to the Kohat Pass in February 1850. It is believed that no more than six men of the 61st Foot earned this combination of medals.
