Sidney Charles Hoath attested for the East Surrey Regiment, and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War. He transferred first to the Royal Fusiliers, and then to the Northumberland Fusilier,s and served with the latter unit post-War in Iraq and Mesopotamia.
