James Whitelock was born at Morice Town, Devonport, on 4 December 1839, and joined the Royal Navy on 15 March 1859. He served aboard Victor Emmanuel from 1 June 1874 to 9 March 1877, and received his L.S. & G.C. medal on 23 August 1875. He was ‘Shore Pensioned’ on 21 May 1879, having served as a Plumber throughout. Sold with copied record of service.
