The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, M.B.E. (Military) Member’s 2nd type shoulder badge, silver, on lady’s bow riband, in Royal Mint case of issue; Women’s Voluntary Service Medal, unnamed as issued, in Royal Mint case of issue, extremely fine (2) £80-£120

Miss Leonora Elizabeth Gambier Howe was appointed Acting Third Officer, Women’s Royal Naval Service on 26 February 1944, and was promoted Second Officer, 16 July 1945.

Sold with a letter from the Central Chancery to the recipient’s cousin, acknowledging the notification of the death of the recipient, dated 9 June 1982.
