Herbert John Rackham was born in Beccles, Suffolk, in 1886, and attested there for the Royal West Surrey Regiment. He served with the Depot Battalion during the Great War, and died at home on 31 October 1918. He is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Beccles Cemetery, Suffolk.
