Clifton College Medal for Life Saving (2), by Pinches, London, obverse, nude athlete about to throw a discus, reverse, armorial shield and motto of the college (Presented to J. J. Sheasby. For saving life. July 1890; J. J. Sheasby. For saving life July 1897) 44mm., silver, with straight bar suspension, the first in a damaged case with inscription in gilt lettering on leather, ‘Presented to J. J. Sheasby by the Rev. J. M. Wilson on behalf of the boys of Clifton College in recognition of saving life during the past 14 years July 1890’, ref. M.J.P. 32, slight cut to rim on the second, otherwise, good very fine (2) £200-£300

Mr J. J. Shearsby was Superintendent of the Baths at Clifton College, 1876-1924. Sold with several copied articles from the Bristol Mercury and other local papers.
