John Wheller was born in Brompton, London, and served with the 11th Hussars. He was awarded the M.S.M. with annuity in 1932, and died of Pneumonia in Leeds in July of the following year. In later life Wheller had been employed as an Inspector with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
