John Hazlett, a native of Co. Donegal, joined the Royal Irish Constabulary in Co. Mayo on 17 June 1890, aged 24. He was stationed in Co. Tipperary from January 1891; Co. Roscommon from January 1893; Co. Galway from March 1895; Co. Tyrone from June 1900; and Co. Down from March 1902. He was pensioned on 16 August 1910.
