Provenance: Dix Noonan Webb, September 2010.

The Bahr el Ghazal 1900-02 clasp was awarded to 5 British and 11 Sudanese officers and 350 Sudanese troops who took part in police operations, in the Bahr el Ghazal province, under Sparkes Bey between 13 December 1900 and 28 April 1902. It was also awarded to Lieutenant Fell, R.N., a few naval ratings, and two members of the Royal Marines who were employed in the area between November and December 1900.

The Talodi clasp was awarded for the suppression of the rising by the Abu Rifas in the Nuba mountains during the period 25 May to 17 June 1906. A Force commanded by Miralai O’Connell Bey consisting of 150 men of the 12th Sudanese Infantry and 380 of the Camel Corps left Obeid on 2 June, arrived at Talodi on 12 June and stamped out the rising at Eliri on 15 June.
