Michael Brew was Limerick in 1790, and attested for the 6th Foot at Kilkenny on 7 October 1810. He served in the Peninsula and was present at the battles of Vittoria and the Pyrenees, the crossing of the Bidassoa, and the battles of Nivelle and Orthes. He was discharged on 27 January 1825 as a consequence of a femoral hernia of both sides suffered at Grahamstown in 1822, after 14 years and 237 days’ service. He died on 21 January 1854.
