Confirmed on the roll as Christopher Hobson, Private, Royal Marines aboard H.M.S. Princess Charlotte at Syria.

Christopher Hopson was born in the Parish of Charlow, near Wantage, Berkshire, and enlisted into the Royal Marines at Reading on 30 August 1836, aged 19 years 7 months. He served in 78 Company of the Portsmouth Division and was discharged on 3 May 1858, having ‘served during the Operations on the Coast of Syria in 1840 and wears the War and Turkish Medals for that service.’ Sold with copied medal roll entry and discharge papers.
