London Gazette 8 July 1941:
‘This man has been conspicuous throughout the campaign. In particular on the 6th Feb, when his gun had been knocked out and his detachment all killed or wounded, he went, under intense fire, to take charge of another gun, whose detachment had also been knocked out. Laying and firing the gun himself he destroyed five enemy tanks.’

Patrick Dunn was born in Everton, Liverpool, in June 1913. He enlisted in the Royal Artillery (T.A.) in September 1938, and served with the 106th (Lancashire Yeomanry) Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery, as part of the 7th Armoured Division in North Africa, 1940-41.
