A very fine example, of the first pattern plate, the gilt metal sun-ray pattern back plate overlaid with a silver mount, this incorporates the Royal Arms, Harp & Maid, shamrock sprays and unit title ‘Fifth Royal Irish’, the top point of the back plate missing, one other ray point with slight distortion otherwise very fine condition £800-£1,000
