Martin William Gott was born in Yorkshire in 1926, and was commissioned Lieutenant in the Royal Army Medical Corps on 31 May 1954, being promoted Captain on 31 May of the following year. He subsequently served as a House Physician in Neurology at Pinderfields; as a House Surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary; and later in the family practice in Ilkley. He shot himself and died in 1972.
