General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Palestine 1945-48 (19032209 Pte. R. Stark. A. & S.H.) number partially officially corrected, nearly extremely fine £140-£180

R. C. Stark served with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Korea where, together with the Middlesex Regiment, they were the first British Battalions to land in Pusan and enter the War. They fought through the bitter winter of 1950 up to the North Korean Capital of Pyong Yang- for his gallantry in leading a ferocious counter attack to recapture a position occupied by the enemy during these operations Major Kenneth Muir, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was awarded a posthumous Victoria Cross. Stark himself was killed in action on 5 November 1950, and is buried in the United Nations Memorial Cemetery, Pusan, Korea.
