Albert Frederick Phillips was born in Plumstead, Kent, and served during the Great War with the 10th (Service) Battalion, Essex Regiment in the French theatre of war from 8 September 1915. He was killed in action on the Western Front, 31 October 1918, and is buried in the Honnechy British Cemetery, Nord, France.
