ABBASID, al-Ma’mun, Dirham, Nishapur 203h, citing Dhu’l-Riyasatayn, double margin on obverse, 3.26g/2h (Lowick –; A 223.5; ICV 390). Lightly cleaned, otherwise good very fine, extremely rare £200-260

Two types were struck at Nishapur in 203: one an anonymous type with single obverse margin, the other is in the name of the heir al-Rida with double obverse margin. The present coin appears to be a mule of the obverse of the latter with the reverse of the former
