Provenance: Harold Lawes, paternal grandfather of the wife of the vendor.

Harold William Allen Lawes (1865-1940), landscape painter from Primrose Hill, London, travelled extensively in the two decades prior to World War I, painting country scenes and landscapes. A precocious talent, he would have received these medals when only 15 and 16 years of age
