LONDON, Lambeth, Royal Circus, silver (3), undated, oval, perhaps by Thomas Hobbs, named (Free Admission, G. Fournier Esqr & Family), hallmarked th London 1800, 57 x 40mm, 11.69g; 1805, named (G. Fournier Esq, Admit Two), hallmarked tf er London 1804, 39mm, 12.48g; 1806, oval, named (G. Fournier Esqr), stamped tf er, 48 x 37mm, 15.78g (W 424; cf. D & W 36/381) [3]. Bright from past cleaning, otherwise very fine and an extremely rare trio; first with attempted piercing for suspension, last pierced for suspension £700-900

The Royal Circus and Equestrian Philharmonic Academy opened in 1782. It was reconstructed as a theatre in 1799, burnt down in 1803, rebuilt and re-opened the following year. In 1816 it was retitled as the Royal Circus Surrey Theatre
