1914-15 Star (303 Pte., 18 / Bn. A.I.F.); British War and Victory Medals (303 Cpl., 18 Bn. A.I.F.), together with Memorial Plaque (Sydney William Parr) and Australian Commonwealth Militaty Forces Badge, good very fine and better (5) £160-200

Sydney William Parr was born in the Parish of Forest Gate, near the town of West Ham in Essex. A labourer by trade, he enlisted into the Australian Imperial Forces at Liverpool, New South Wales in February 1915, aged 26 years. With the 18th Battalion he served in Gallipoli and then in France. He was killed in action on 30.7.1916 and was buried at Pozieres British Cemetery, Oviller-la Boisselle, Somme, France. Sold with copied service and related papers.
