David Dunderdale’s Medal and clasp entitlements for services with the 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers in the Sudan and in South Africa are all verified. Re-enlisting in the Royal Engineers in the Great War, he first entered the French theatre of war in October 1915, but was discharged in February 1917 and awarded the Silver War Badge.
