Baltic 1854-55 (Richd. Coppen, H.M.S. Miranda); Crimea 1854-561 clasp, Azoff (Richd. Coppen, H.M.S. Miranda) contemporary engraved naming on these two; Turkish Crimea, British issue, unnamed, very fine (3) £250-300

Richard Coppen was born in the Parish of St Lawrence, near Ramsgate, Kent, in about 1832. He served as a Stoker on board Horatio from 1 February 1854 and joined H.M.S. Miranda on 9 March 1854, serving in that ship in the Baltic and in the Sea of Azoff. His Baltic and Crimean medals were sent to Miranda on 14 April 1857. Sold with confirmation of medals and copies of relevant description books.
