Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (4785 Pte. E. Edwards, 1st Dragoon Gds.) last two clasps attached by wire, extremely fine £50-70

Ernest Edwards was born in Bushbury near Wolverhampton in 1882. A plumber by trade, he enlisted into the Army in April 1900 having had some part time service with the 3rd battalion South Staffordshire Regiment (Volunteers). Serving with the 1st Dragoon Guards in South Africa from June 1901, he was discharged at his own request in December 1902.
