John William Atkinson was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, in 1887 and attested for the West Yorkshire Regiment at Bradford on 16 September 1914. He served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 16 April 1915, and was wounded during the Battle of the Somme (Leeds Mercury, 24 August 1916 refers). He was promoted Corporal on 10 December 1918, and was demobilised on 19 March 1919.

Sold with copied attestation papers, Medal Index Card, and other research.

William Marley attested for the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 9 June 1915. He was discharged to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 8 February 1919.
