Walter Crane was born in Hammersmith, Middlesex, and attested for the Lincolnshire Regiment in London. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 10 March 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, France.

Ernest Tugby was born in Whitwick, Leicestershire, and attested for the Leicestershire Regiment at Coalville, Leicestershire. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 7 June 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
