New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated 1860 to 1864 (3435 M. Fahey, 40th. Regt.) edge bruising, good very fine £340-£380

Michael Fahey was born in Ireland in 1835, and having attested for the 40th (2nd Somersetshire) Regiment of Foot, served with them in Australia on Garrison Duty. He proceeded to New Zealand for service during the Maori Wars, and was present at the actions at Puketekauere, Huirangi, Mahoetahi, Matarikoriko Te Arei, Tapakau, and Orakau.
