James John Halket was a native of Glasgow. He served during the Great War with the 2nd (City of London) Battalion, London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) in the Egyptian theatre of war from 30 August 1915. Halket advanced to Sergeant and subsequently served with the Battalion on the Western Front.
