Sir Philip Crampton Smyly, Kt., M.D., was born in Dublin, 17 June 1838. Surgeon in Ordinary to the Viceroys of Ireland, 1869-92; Surgeon in Ordinary to Queen Victoria in Ireland; and Consulting Surgeon to Rotunda Hospital and the National Children’s Hospital. Died 8 April 1904.
